BOARDWALKS AND TANK TOWNS
is new and original piano ensemble music reminiscent of American jazz, ragtime
and salon songs popular in the early to mid 1900's. Words to best describe the
music I believe are sentimental, motivational, romantic, melodic,
cinematographic, evocative, intimate and thoughtful. The songs are meant to
depict what was happening musically in diverse cities and regions across the
United States and Canada in the time period mentioned. Some of the titles
include Biloxi, Memphis, Savannah, Cedar Rapids,
South Bend, Miami Beach, Campobello Island, etc.
My piano compositions stand on their own as solo
pieces but I orchestrated parts for brass, strings, wind and percussion to
further enhance the music. Great musicians, old friends and those now new
friends, came from all over the state to help me record. If you like good piano
music, you will like this recording.
